Happy Monday, folks!
Prospectors built Colorado.
A pick. A pan. A mule. A hunch about what’s under the rock.
I prospect too. From my laptop. In the same mountains.
What a time to be alive!
The New Pick and Shovel
Prompting is everything. I learned that early, sometime in 2023, if I had to guess. h/t Farbood
I don’t know a lick of code. But have you seen the website?
It’s fucking gorgeous.
Here’s how I do it. It’s simple.
I speak. The computer listens.
I leverage Wispr Flow - it records and transcribes your voice in real time.
It’s Siri on steroids. I speak at 98 words per minute. I type at 58. That’s nearly a 2x gain in efficiency.
And speed compounds.
Try talking the next time you vibe code. It’ll change the way you compute.
Working the Claim
So I speak a prompt into a standard Claude chat.
That prompt asks Claude to write a new prompt.
I copy it into Claude Code.
Ask for a prompt. Edit the prompt. Run the prompt.
Rinse and repeat.
It’s hilarious.
It’s a lot like working with clay.
Every pass, the shape gets sharper.
Staking Claims
As of today, Terminal captures 40 public data sources across five verticals. Aviation. Defense drones. Autonomous vehicles. International. EV charging.
About 460 MB a day, and climbing.
Every source is a claim. Every daily file is a bucket of dirt.
Maybe it’s fool’s gold. Maybe not.
That’s prospecting. You dig before you know. Never give up.
The Bar Moved
It’s crazy.
The folks who were told to “learn to code” can now code with their voice.
It’s a power shift I’m grateful to experience.
What else is possible? Self soverignty? Perhaps.
The old prospector didn’t ask permission. He walked into the hills and started digging.
Bringing Ore
Some of you know this. I tried hard to break into Wall Street. I dreamed of the S-tier shops. I sent countless resumes.
Never got a reply.
This time, I don’t send a resume. I send ore. Real data. Real insights.
And folks write back asking for more.
Alignment in real time.
Two Mining Towns
This Friday, I’ll be in Boulder for a New Zealand and Colorado lunch Brad Feld is hosting. New Zealand investors, fund managers and advisors are flying in to talk about investing in, and living in, New Zealand.
If you’re in the start-up space, build in Colorado, you know Brad. He’s the co-founder of Techstars and Foundry Group. Author of Venture Deals and Startup Communities.
The man’s a legend. I can’t wait to meet him and his team.
Brad lays out the overlap. Colorado and New Zealand are about the same size. Same population, give or take. Rocket Lab sits in Littleton. Halter is headquartered in Boulder. The Governor signed a deal with New Zealand covering aerospace.
His one ask? A nonstop flight from Denver to Auckland… lol
If you recall, I wrote about Queenstown, New Zealand, and its aerial tram.
Aspen and Queenstown have been sister cities since 1992.
We love alignment + synchronicities.
I know I’m onto something.
I’m not that crazy.
It’s early.
