Happy Friday folks!
Fridays will be reserved for a single company profile in the future, but our process for compiling the data and presenting it in a simple, easy-to-understand manner is still a work in progress.
I'm excited to share more! When the time is right.
Until then - I want to leave you with a great stat for your Friday night.
In 1909, America's registered automobiles grew 57.4%. The year after Ford introduced the Model T.
Over the past 12 months, America's fleet of large drones on the FAA registry grew 57.4%.
Same growth rate. 117 years apart.
The chart below shows registered automobiles from 1900 to 1950: a flat, slow start, then liftoff.
1909 was the early days of the automobile. ~1% of US households owned a vehicle. Something like 3 cars per 1,000 people.
But what happened next?
In 1910, registered automobiles grew another 50%.
By 1914, the fleet increased 5.4X. By 1919, 21.8X.
That’s a mega trend.
And we haven’t even touched on its ripple effects.
We’re on the cusp of something.
The growth is in the data.
And that’s why we keep the record.
